Which costs less for the same commitment?
At the documented monthly rates, Candy AI is $6 less per month before additional usage spending. The annual offers differ by $72 upfront, but Candy’s listed annual amount is a promotional offer. Confirm the actual price and renewal terms presented to your account.
The annual monthly equivalents are $3.99 for Candy and $9.99 for OurDream. Neither figure should be confused with a monthly charge on those annual terms. A comparison that ignores the amount payable today understates the commitment.
A lower subscription fee does not automatically mean a lower total bill. If most of your usage is generated media, add the cost of those actions before choosing. If conversation is your priority, start with the chat access rules and a short commitment that lets you assess the experience.
Tokens and DreamCoins are not comparable units
One thousand coins are not necessarily ten times the value of 100 tokens. Each platform sets its own exchange between an internal unit and an action. Comparing the balances without comparing those rates produces a misleading result.
OurDream’s published examples include five coins per in-chat image, 50 per minute of voice calling and 100 per five seconds of standard video. Candy’s token documentation lists supported uses, but we have not verified an equivalent current rate table inside a paid account.
That gives OurDream an advantage in the transparency of the budget evidence available for this article. It does not prove that its output is cheaper per useful result. Quality, retries and preferred settings could all change that calculation.
AI companion chat, roleplay and character customization
Both services sit in the AI companion and AI girlfriend category, where character customization and fictional roleplay are common reasons to subscribe. A feature list cannot settle which conversation style you will prefer.
For a fair personal comparison, use the same harmless fictional premise, similar instructions and a comparable number of exchanges. Look for coherence, responsiveness to corrections and continuity. Evaluate image generation separately so that an attractive character portrait does not stand in for conversation quality.
Plan tiers also matter. Candy’s Premium Plus guide lists additional personas, memory slots and chat clones. Do not compare those extras against another provider’s basic subscription while using Candy’s standard Premium price.
Character creation is worth assessing as its own task. Can you customize a fictional AI character in a way that fits your intended conversation, and do the settings remain understandable after editing? Keep the prompt similar when comparing services. Image generation and video generation: what remains untested
